Polo “the king of games and the game of kings” is the oldest and most traditional game of Gilgit-Baltistan. The traditional Freestyle polo is only played in Gilgit-Baltistan; various Polo Tournaments are being organized by Gilgit-Baltistan Government throughout the year. Shandur Polo Festival is a regular mega-event that is held from 7 to 9 July every year on the Shandur Polo Ground (the highest polo ground in the world, bordering the province of KPK). However, the event has been scheduled this year from 1 to 3 July 2022 due to the falling of Eid-ul-Azha.
