The Chief Minister Gilgit-Baltistan has been pleased to approve the Directorate of Tourism GB to function as the Directorate of Tourist Services (DTS) Gilgit-Baltistan to regulate Hotel and Travel Trades, including Hotels, Restaurants, Travel Agents, Tour Operators, and Tourist Guides. The Directorate shall implement the following three Acts and the Rules framed thereunder:

1.      Gilgit-Baltistan Hotel & Restaurant Act 2019

2.      Gilgit-Baltistan Tourist Guide Act

3.      Gilgit-Baltistan Travel Agency and Tour Operators Act

Previously, the above powers were exercised by DTS Islamabad in case of Gilgit-Baltistan due to which tourism-related persons of Gilgit-Baltistan were facing difficulties. Now the people of GB will have the best facilities at their doorstep regarding the regulation of their tourism-related businesses.
