Probationary officers of the 47th STP Pakistan Administrative Service visited Gilgit-Baltistan


Gilgit-Baltistan Government is taking all possible measures to promote tourism, special attention is being paid to adventure tourism and eco-tourism. Secretary Tourism and Culture Rana Muhammad Saleem Afzal.

Secretary Tourism, Sports and Culture Rana Muhammad Saleem Afzal, while giving a briefing to the probationary officers of the 47th STP Pakistan Administrative Service who visited Gilgit-Baltistan, said that Gilgit-Baltistan in Pakistan is one of the best places in the world for tourism. The government of Gilgit-Baltistan is paying special attention to important sectors like tourism, education, health, energy and minerals. Practical steps are also being taken to improve the quality of life of the people and eradicate poverty.

The secretary Tourism further added that Tourism is an integrated industry without improvement in infrastructure, energy, connectivity, better accommodation facilities and trained professional’s sustainable tourism is a mirage. To attend the objective of eco-friendly and sustainable tourism integrated planning by taking all stakeholders on board is imminent. He further stated that incumbent government is proactive to promote and regulate the sector to make it sustainable.

The Probationary Officer of Pakistan Administrative Service praised the beauty, hospitality, tourism, culture and scenery of Gilgit-Baltistan and termed GB as the Switzerland of Pakistan.
