Gilgit, May 05, 2026 (PR): A prestigious literary event titled “Mushaira Bislisla Marka-e-Haq” was held at Karakoram International University (KIU) to commemorate the first anniversary of the success of Marka-e-Haq. The event paid rich tribute to the historic achievements of the Armed Forces of Pakistan and highlighted the spirit of national unity and patriotism.
The Mushaira was jointly organized by the Provost Office, Departments of Urdu and English, Art, Culture and Dramatic Society, and the Literary Society, in collaboration with Halqa Arbab-e-Zauq and the Tourism Department Gilgit-Baltistan.
Vice Chancellor KIU, Prof. Dr. Attaullah Shah, and Acting Minister for Tourism, Syed Adil Shah, attended the event as chief guests along with other distinguished speakers. In their addresses, they termed Marka-e-Haq a golden chapter in Pakistan’s defense history, emphasizing that the courage and professionalism of the armed forces not only thwarted hostile designs but also instilled renewed confidence and unity among the nation.
They encouraged students to utilize literature and education as tools to strengthen national cohesion and to adopt service to the nation as their guiding principle. The speakers noted that the Mushaira was not merely a poetic gathering but a powerful expression of national pride and solidarity.
Renowned poets from across the region participated in the Mushaira and presented passionate poetry, paying homage to the sacrifices of martyrs, the valor of the armed forces, and the spirit of unity among the people. The audience highly appreciated the performances, making the event both vibrant and memorable.
A large number of faculty members, students, officials from the Tourism Department, and literary enthusiasts attended the event. Speakers highlighted the importance of such literary activities in promoting cultural values, nurturing creative expression, and reinforcing patriotism among the youth.
