Gilgit, May 5, 2026: A spectacular polo show match titled “Maarka-e-Haq” (Battle of Truth) was held today at the Aga Khan Shahi Polo Ground under the joint organization of the Gilgit-Baltistan Department of Tourism, Sports & Culture and the district administration Gilgit.
The thrilling contest featured teams from Gilgit-1 and Subdivision Gilgit, delivering an exciting and competitive match that kept spectators fully engaged.
The event was graced by the Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan, Justice (R) Yar Muhammad, as the chief guest, whose presence added prestige to the occasion. Among the guests of honor were Major General Syed Imtiaz Hussain Gillani and Arshad Majeed Mohmand.
The ceremony began in a traditional style, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the region. Polo, a deeply rooted and popular sport in Gilgit-Baltistan, served as a centerpiece for promoting local culture while also highlighting the region’s tourism potential.
